The Canadians didn't even make us get stamped this time! The US guy at the Canadian border coming back to the US harrassed us a little bit. He fired a bunch of half-hearted questions at us in a phony small-talk tone, trying to see if we forged our passports/green cards. Next time you're stuck coming back into the US, be comforted that it's because passport control is keeping you safe from the astrophysicists' plan to take over the world!

I think those guys at US customs coming out of Canada just ask some lame questions to kill time while they wait to see if your license plates show up on the computer as belonging to a stolen car.

Astrophysicists will never take over the world--it's the cats, man! The cats!!!

Green cards are so much fun. I can't wait to have one of my own.

The conversation, as I've had it a thousand times:
- where do you work?
- at the university
- what do you do?
- I'm a professor
- what do you teach?
- sociology
- is it interesting?
- very much so
