Decor

Inspired by a picture that Ella saw in a magazine, Ella and I had fun decorating her room.
We used a couple of art pieces she brought home from school, some circular items of different sizes, marker, scissors, and scotch tape.
Ella did most of the tracing and picked out which parts of the paintings to use; she then helped sort the cut circles by size, and taped them on the wall.

I particularly like the idea of recycling school art. I love the kids' drawings and keep some of them on the wall of fame at my office; but ones like the ones we cut today would have probably made their way to a box in the basement and never see the light of day :)

Thursday Night Smackdown

The Lightning McQueen munchkin couch we got a couple of years remains one of our best buys since we had kids. Ella and Daniel turned it into a ring weapon today, and I got referee my first wrestling match in a long time. I think the couch is an illegal object but I still let all the "couch shots" slide.

Ella pretty much controlled the flow of the match, and used a stunning combination of bicycle and mule kicks later in the match that got a warning from the referee. Daniel didn't go to his patented "schoolboy" finishing move or the illegal hair-pull today. He showed he doesn't have a glass jaw, but the ref had to cut the match short and put the Duder to bed after he landed his third or fourth tombstone pile-driver from the couch.

Dirty Work

Imma is California, so we decided to go clean up the park. Duder ran the dumptruck, and then he and Ella used the backhoe and some other heavy equipment to level out the sandbox a bit.
