Our car

Our car is fully equipped to battle life in Chicago:

Car ornament (it used to be air freshener, a few years ago. now it's just decoration, and helps us recognize our car in parking lots).

Time showing device. it has a systematic error of about 2 hours, since it still shows the daylight-saving time in ann arbor. good thing astrophysicists know how to subtract. or add. which one is it ?!?

On this topic, our Michigan registration expired on my birthday Thursday. The Illinois Secretary of State requires a Title before they will issue a registration. Thus, we will be using the CTA until the State of Michigan issues us another Title. Bummer.

We're probably going to get a couple of 7-day fun passes: unlimited rides on all the CTA for 7 days @ $20 apiece. It's a good deal. There are a few routes we could take to get from Bryn Mawr to U of C:
Option 1: BUS # 147 OUTER DRIVE EXPRESS SOUTHBOUND to Jackson and Balbo. Then BUS # 6 JACKSON PARK EXPRESS SOUTHBOUND to 55th and Hyde Park. Then BUS # 55 GARFIELD WESTBOUND to 55th and Ellis. Total time: 1 hr. and 2 mins, normally $6.
Option 2: Take red line south to Garfield, then BUS # 55 GARFIELD EASTBOUND to 55th and Ellis. Total time: 56 mins, normally $2.25.
Option 3: Red line to Belmont, then Lakeview Express Bus to U of Chicago. This is probably $3.75, and about an 1hr. I can't find it on the CTA trip planner, but it looks painless enough. Woops, it only goes Northbound, so scratch that idea for the morning.
