One of the Beluga whales had a baby a couple of months ago, and the aquarium is gradually letting people view it. We went to a special members-only event (we felt so VIP) to see the baby whale. So cute! he was swimming alongside his mom the whole time. 
Ella was happy to be at the aquarium, as usual, more for looking at the other kids than for the actual animals. 
Ella got this cute little outfit from the Naozim (thanks Smadar's mom!). She wore it to daycare, and was the only one there wearing a costume, which she didn't seem to mind :)

i thought i heard Ella blabbing in her bedroom, which means that she woke up from her mid-day weekend nap. when i walked into the room, i saw a tiny foot sticking out.
she's so happy when she wakes up from her nap!
Every once in a while we see this bumper sticker in Chicago, it's white text on red, saying in Hebrew "keep distance". (you can't see it in this too-low-resolution picture on the car on the left). It's very common in Israel. Does anyone know how one would get one of these in the US?
last night i called a friend in CA to ask a question about Hummus. before getting to the question part, she mentioned that she's with her daughter at the park.

that made me miss summer so much! i would compromise for spring. i'm so ready for the cold weather to be over, for the snow to be gone, and for the ice to make room for cozy water temperatures. maybe this year we'll finally take advantage of living so damn close to the beach.
we noticed that the first daffodil stems are poking out of the (still) frozen (still) snow-covered ground. yayy! this means that spring will eventually be here. i can't wait.
