Super Girl Gymnast

We're watching a lot of Olympics these days, and the new Super Girl Gymnast character emerged. She wants to be everything and do everything the girls with the shiny gymnast outfits do on TV. We spent the night doing somersaults, rolls, and back flips (with some help of ima, the coach). This is by far my favorite personality! Daniel likes to participate too. As soon as Super Girl runs down the hallway, he dashes towards the red mat and crashes on it. we helped him do some back flips as well (those are on a different camera feed though) and the crowd roared!

Art fair

last week was Ann Arbor's art fair, which takes over most of downtown and campus area. I took a couple of lunch breaks to look at stuff. I really wish it was a smaller fair, after touring the first few streets everything started looking the same and quite repetitive... but i did note some of the things that i found impressive during the first day.

this work by Stephen Kinnard was my favorite.

Brian Jensen's art reminded me a lot of Rinat Hoffer. Even ben said he kept expecting to see a picture of Hatzav Bitzbuts hanging there.

the next artist uses a very interesting technique of "reverse painting on acrylic glass with enamel pigments. " (see his website). the picture truly can't express the vibrancy of these pictures, which are priced way out of my comfort zone.

Playing

Daniel playing with the ball ramp toy! he wasn't really into it until now (you shouldn't compare your kids, but Ella mastered it when she was 8 months old). this video shows the first time he's using this toy for something other than putting it in his mouth or using it as a crutch to stand himself up. Yayy Daniel! Daniel puts ball on the ramp, 9 months and a week old.

Puzzle

and of course, you can't work on a puzzle without Scrooge's help. Daniel experimenting with the shape sorter puzzle. 9 months 1 week old.

i think Daniel's first tooth is in, but he won't let me see it! either way, he's trying really hard to eat this corn on the cob :)

Sometime towards the end of our nature walk yesterday, Ella decided to pretend be a baby. She started talking like a baby (well, like Daniel), and walk like a baby (which means, crawl). she wouldn't speak a single word. i think it started when she got tired of walking and i suggested to push her in the jogger. she stuck to the character so strongly, that she even ate some of Daniel's mashed vegetables baby food for dinner! that's dedication. p.s. luckily that baby was still potty trained.

Wedding video

Daniel likes to re-alphabetize our DVDs every other day. This morning he happened to pull out our wedding video... So we (Ella an I) ended up watching it. Ella most enjoyed watching us all dance. Dress up gowns and all!

One day I need to watch this movie with my brothers so we can laugh our pants off.
