Cookies

Ella and I made some cookies last night as a holiday gift for the kids' daycare teachers. we cut "L","M" and "N" letter cookies for her teachers, Liz, Matt and Nicole, and a whole bunch of ginger-bread-baby and mini christmas tree cookies. Ella was in charge of some of the frosting, and all of the sprinkles/M&M decor. Each teacher got a tin box full of cookies and brownies, and a card addressed/signed by the kids. I hope they like it! it was the best cookie making experience i've had with Ella, and the first time she was engaged in ALL parts of the process. (until now she mostly liked making a huge mess with flour). i'm looking forward to more cookie cutting and decorating over the break :)

Family night

I haven't posted in a while... busy i guess. i don't have a good excuse! this wednesday was a "family night" at Ella's school. we all gathered at the school basement play area, and the kids put up a show for us! they have been practicing for quite a while. it started with the B-I-N-G-O song, then the itsy-bitsy-spider: then followed by a class specialty, "You can't always get what you want". a favorite of Matt's (the teacher) and ours. Despite singing these songs to us all the time for a couple of weeks now, Ella seems to have been to giddy to sing along! After the show we made some guitars from shoe boxes and office supplies (who recognizes the size 15 shoe box? that's right)

Daniel likes music

Daniel figured out how to make my phone play music. I may never see my phone again.
(the damn thing can go straight from locked position to playing music without being unlocked.)
